Atlanta Hawks fans were hoping their team would rest up, regroup, and come out strong after the All-Star break. Instead, the Hawks suffered another disappointing loss Friday night.
The Miami Heat were without their two best players, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade. They only suited up 9 players. Yet they came into Philips Arena and handed the Hawks a frustrating 115-111 loss.
Jeff Teague and Kyle Korver have been two of the main scapegoats so far this season. The wisdom being that if those two could get it going, Atlanta could start resembling last season’s 60-win team.
Teague led the Hawks with 23 points and 7 assists Friday night against the Heat. Korver racked up 18, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range.
The Hawks two main problems were they turned the ball over 21 times and played pedestrian, disinterested defense.
If the Hawks were a horse, it would be time for the jockey (Coach Mike Budenholzer) to use the whip.
Atlanta has the chance to redeem themselves Saturday night against the Bucks at Philips Arena.
