In what is becoming all too frequent an occurrence, the Georgia Bulldogs new head coach Kirby Smart suffered another decommit.
Aaron Dowdell, the 6’5″ 290 pound offensive guard from Fairburn has decided to re-open his recruitment. Dowdell is rated 3-stars by 247sports and number 20 in the country at his position.
You’re never quite sure if a player isn’t comfortable with a new coaching staff and decides to de-commit. Or maybe the new staff lets certain recruits know they would serve themselves well by going elsewhere.
Dowdell announced his commitment to Georgia back on February 5, 2015, so he has been committed for almost a year. At the time he said that playing for Georgia would be a “dream come true.”
Dowdell made the announcement on his Twitter account that he and the Dawgs were parting ways:
