Jeff Francoeur Signs With Braves

Jef Francoeur Returns to Atlanta

Atlanta Braves fan favorite Jeff Francoeur has signed with the Atlanta Braves. The Braves announced they have agreed to terms with Francoeur on a one-year minor league contract for the 2016 season.

Do the Braves read AtlantaSportsToday.com?  I wrote an article two weeks ago that strongly suggested the Braves should sign Francoeur.  Here is that article:  Braves Should Bring Francoeur Home

Francoeur will attend the Braves major league training camp.

The Parkview High School product played last season with the Phillies and hit .258 with 13 homers and 45 RBIs in 119 games.  Francoeur, 32, led the majors in pinch-hitting with a .367 average (11 for 30) last season.

Francoeur played in 631 games with the Braves from the 2005 to 2009 seasons.  Since then he has played with the New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres along with the Phillies.

Francoeur is a .261 career hitter with 153 home runs and 664 RBIs in 1356 games.
