Paul Johnson is firmly on the hot seat after the 3-9 record in the 2015 season. Coacheshotseat.com has Johnson placed #11 nationally.
Not that it means anything, Johnson’s contract runs through the 2020 season. At an average of $3.02/year.
Georgia Tech doesn’t have the money to buy out Johnson for at least two, probably three more seasons.
Johnson could go 0-12 next season and he will be back in 2017. He could go 0-12 in 2018 and he will still be back in the ensuing year.
Unless Johnson does something illegal or immoral, he will be as solid an Atlanta fixture as Hank Aaron’s statue the next couple years.
Enjoy the ride, Tech fans.
